Visa Requirements for U.S. Citizens
TOURIST
- Valid and signed passport with at least two blank pages marked “Visas” side by side and at least six months of validity remaining – photocopy is not acceptable
- One Visa Application Form completed and signed. The application form must have original signature.
- Two Passport Type Photographs (do not staple)
- Photocopy of the passport data page
- Copies of previous DRC visas (If applicable)
- International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever
- Copy of the passport data page
- Notarized Invitation from Democratic Republic of Congo, the notary’s signature MUST be endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophonie (applicable for any invitation or letter of support issued by an individual residing in the Democratic Republic of Congo). For invitations or letter of support sent by someone from provinces in the Democratic Republic of Congo, once notarized the letter of invitation/support must be validated by a subsidiary office (Centre de Capture) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophonie in that province.

- For travelers applying for a tourist visa, please submit evidence (financial statement or letter of support) that shows they have adequate means of stay in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

For children under the age of 10 years old, the following 3 documentation must be provided for a Visa to be issued.
(1) Copy of birth certificate,
(2) Copy of Parents passport, and
(3) Parental authorization
BUSINESS

- Business Letter from U.S. company – must have original wet signature. NOTE: Digital or electronic signature is not acceptable.
- A letter of invitation from the company or partners to be visited in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The letter must be on company letterhead and signed by a representative of the company, and should include the applicant’s name and the name, address, and telephone number for a contact person at the overseas company. This letter must be notarized at City Hall in the DRC, it must also be legalized by the DRC Ministry of Foreign Affairs and submitted with a formal declaration of liability “

Diplomatic/Official Travel

- Letter from sending department or agency, confirming the purpose of travel and dates of the intended visit
- Copy of the passport data page
