Denmark Visa

Denmark Visa Information for Dallas TX Travelers

Denmark is calling — and if you are a US citizen in Dallas or anywhere in the DFW area, your passport is all you need to get there. Denmark is a full Schengen Area member which means US citizens can visit visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day Schengen period. Home to Copenhagen one of Europe’s most livable and design-forward capitals, the birthplace of LEGO and Hans Christian Andersen, stunning fjords, Viking history, and some of the world’s happiest people, Denmark is a destination that consistently surprises and delights DFW travelers. Note that your days in Denmark count toward your overall 90-day Schengen allowance across all 27 Schengen countries. AA Passport & Visa in Richardson TX ensures your passport is valid and ready. Open 7 days a week. Walk-ins welcome. Call 972-231-1600.

There is no visa required for U.S. citizens traveling for business, tourist or official/diplomatic travel purposes for a maximum stay of 90 days. A valid US Passport (must be valid for 6 months beyond the date of entry) is required.

Register your trip on-line with the U.S. Embassy in this country. Millions of Americans travel abroad every year and encounter no difficulties. However, U.S. embassies and consulates assist nearly 200,000 Americans each year who are victims of crime, accident, or illness, or whose family and friends need to contact them in an emergency. When an emergency happens, or if natural disaster, terrorism, or civil unrest strikes during your foreign travel, the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate can be your source of assistance and information. By registering your trip, you help the embassy or consulate locate you when you might need them the most. Registration is voluntary and costs nothing, but it should be a big part of your travel planning and security.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. US citizens do not need a visa to visit Denmark for tourism or business. Denmark is a founding Schengen Area member and American passport holders can enter visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day rolling period. Your days in Denmark count toward your overall 90-day Schengen allowance across all 27 Schengen countries combined. Once ETIAS launches US citizens will need to register online before entering Denmark or any other Schengen country. AA Passport & Visa helps with passport renewal before your Denmark trip. Call 972-231-1600.

This is an important distinction many travelers miss. The Kingdom of Denmark includes mainland Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands. However Greenland and the Faroe Islands are NOT part of the Schengen Area and have separate entry requirements. US citizens can visit Greenland and the Faroe Islands without a visa but those days do not count toward the Schengen limit because they are outside Schengen. Only mainland Denmark and its territories within continental Europe are part of Schengen. AA Passport & Visa advises on this distinction. Call 972-231-1600.

You need a valid US passport with at least 6 months validity beyond your entry date into Denmark. Once ETIAS is active you will also need a valid ETIAS authorization. At Danish border control you may be asked for a return flight ticket, proof of accommodation such as a hotel booking, travel insurance covering your entire stay in the Schengen Area, and proof of sufficient funds. Denmark is very welcoming to American visitors but having these documents ready avoids any delays. AA Passport & Visa helps ensure your passport is current. Call 972-231-1600.

Yes. Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland are all Schengen members. Because Denmark is part of Schengen you can travel freely between Denmark and these Scandinavian neighbors without passport checks at internal borders. Note that Norway and Iceland are Schengen members but not EU members. Your days in all these countries count toward your combined 90-day Schengen allowance. AA Passport & Visa advises Dallas travelers planning Scandinavian multi-country trips to plan their Schengen days carefully.
