Rwanda – Passport and Visa Required
Visa Requirements for U.S. Citizens
On March 31st 2014, The Governments of Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda announced the joint “East Africa Tourist Visa”. This new visa category was created to help promote tourist travel to these three countries. If you are traveling too all three or any combination of these countries you can apply for one visa to be valid for all three. This visa will be valid for 90 days from the date of issue and good for multiple entries into each country. If you wish to apply for this visa you must apply with the first country you are entering into. If your first country is not Rwanda please click on Uganda or Kenya for instructions. Note: The East African Tourist Visa is only valid for three (3) months from the date of issuance.
EAST AFRICA VISA
- Valid and signed U. S. Passport (valid at least 6 months beyond the date of entry; with at least one blank visa page) – photocopy is not acceptable
- Two Visa Application Forms completed and signed. The application form must have original signature.
- Two Passport Type Photographs (with clear or white background)
- International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever
- Computer generated flight itinerary from the travel agent or copy of roundtrip airline ticket
- AA Passport Service order form
TOURIST VISA
- Valid and signed U. S. Passport (valid at least 6 months beyond the date of entry; with at least one blank visa page) – photocopy is not acceptable
- Two Visa Application Forms completed and signed. The application form must have original signature.
- Two Passport Type Photographs (with clear or white background)
- If you are staying with family or friends a Letter of Invitation from your host is required.
- If you are staying in a hotel then a copy of your hotel confirmation is required.
- International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever
- Computer generated flight itinerary from the travel agent or copy of roundtrip airline ticket
- AA Passport Service order form
BUSINESS VISA
- Valid and signed U. S. Passport (valid at least 6 months beyond the date of entry; with at least one blank visa page) – photocopy is not acceptable
- Two Visa Application Forms completed and signed. The application form must have original signature.
- Two Passport Type Photographs (with clear or white background)
- International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever
- Business Letter from U.S. company
- A Letter of Invitation from the host company in Rwanda is required.
- AA Passport Service order form
