Fiancé & Spousal Visa Services

There are two main types of visas available for U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents who want to bring their partner to the U.S.:

K-1 Fiancé Visa

The K-1 visa, also known as the fiancé visa, allows a U.S. citizen to bring their foreign fiancé to the United States. After arriving in the U.S., the couple must get married within 90 days. Once married, the foreign spouse can then apply to adjust their status to become a lawful permanent resident (green card holder).
Basic Requirements for a K-1 Visa:

• The petitioner must be a U.S. citizen (green card holders are not eligible for the K-1 visa).
• Both individuals must be legally free to marry.
• The couple must have met in person at least once within the two years preceding their application (some exceptions may apply).
• The relationship must be real and not solely for immigration purposes.
• Marriage must take place within 90 days of the foreign fiancé’s arrival in the U.S.

CR-1 and IR-1 Spousal Visas

The spousal visa is available to both U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents who are already married to a foreign national. This visa allows the foreign spouse to enter the U.S. as a permanent resident right away without needing to adjust their status after arrival.

Types of Spousal Visas:

• CR-1 (Conditional Resident): For couples married less than two years.
• IR-1 (Immediate Relative): For couples married more than two years.

Requirements for a Spousal Visa:

• A legal marriage is recognized in the country or state where it took place.
• A genuine marital relationship.
• The U.S. sponsor must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident (green card holder).
